Solid Waste Management Plan
Purpose
The Washoe County Solid Waste Management Plan is a document produced by the Washoe County Health District, Waste Management Program which describes the current solid waste management system in Washoe County. It covers topics such as garbage service, household hazardous waste, public outreach programs, recycling services, waste-to-energy technologies and illegal dumping. It also provides information on alternative waste management technologies and local solid waste generation trends. The Waste Management Program uses this document both as a historical reference but also as a program management and planning tool.
