• Parameter: Ambient Temperature (ATEMP)
    • Description: Outdoor temperature measured in degrees Celsius (°C).
  • Parameter: Carbon Monoxide(CO)
    • Description: An odorless, tasteless, colorless gas which is emitted primarily from any form of combustions.
    • Sources: Mobile sources such as automobiles, trucks, buses. Wood stoves, open burning, and industrial combustion sources.
    • Health effects: Deprives the body of oxygen by reducing the blood's capacity to carry oxygen; causes headaches, dizziness, nausea, listlessness and in high doses, may cause death.
  • Parameter: Oxides of Nitrogen (NO, NO2, NOx)
    • Description: Poisonous gases produced when nitrogen oxide is a by-product of sufficiently high burning temperatures.
    • Sources: Fossil fuel power sources, mobile sources, industrial equipment, and fertilizer manufacturing.
    • Health effects: Harmful to lungs.
  • Parameter: Reactive oxides of Nitrogen (NO2y, NOTRACE, NOy)
    • Description: All of the NOy parameters are the reactive oxides of Nitrogen similar to the oxides of Nitrogen above.
    • Sources: Fossil fuel power sources, mobile sources, industrial equipment, and fertilizer manufacturing.
    • Health effects: Harmful to lungs.
  • Parameter: Ozone (O3)
    • Description: O3 is formed when nitrogen oxides (NOx) and volatile organic compounds (VOCs) react with one another in the presence of sunlight and warm temperatures.
    • Sources: O3 precursors, VOCs and NOx, are from mobile sources like automobiles, trucks and buses and stationary sources like power plants and industry.
    • Health effects: Irritated eyes, nose, throat and respiratory system. These conditions can be especially bad for people with chronic heart and lung disease.
  • Parameter: Particulate Matter (PM10, PM2.5, PM2.5 Speciation, PM10-2.5)
    • Description: Particles of dust, soot and unburned fuel suspended in the air. PM2.5 Speciation monitors for over 60 chemicals and compounds.
    • Sources: Wood stoves, industry, dust, construction, street sand and open burning.
    • Health effects: Particulate matter aggravates ailments such as bronchitis and emphysema; especially bad for those with chronic heart and lung disease, as well as the very young and old and pregnant women.
  • Parameter: Relative Humidity (RH)
    • Description: The ratio (%) of the partial pressure of water vapor to the equilibrium vapor pressure of water at the same temperature.
  • Parameter: Sulfur Dioxide (SO2TRACE)
    • Description: SO2 is one of a group of highly reactive gasses known as "oxides of sulfur".
    • Sources: Fossil fuel combustion at power plants, industry and burning of high sulfur-containing fuels for locomotives, large ships and non-road equipment.
    • Health effects: Can cause or worsen respiratory disease, such as emphysema and bronchitis, and can aggravate existing heart disease, leading to increased hospital admissions and premature death.
  • Parameter: Wind Direction (WDR)
    • Description: Direction of the wind measured in degrees compass. True north is 360°.
  • Parameter: Wind Speed (WSP)
    • Description: Magnitude of the velocity of the wind measured in meters per second (m/s).
