Washoe County Predevelopment is free service to help owners, design professionals and contractors with local government development applications, licenses or permit questions prior to submission. Best for addressing questions on a project with a complete initial design, our experts can help you understand any needs or considerations prior to official submission.
Predevelopment meetings are an opportunity to provide a project initial scope and plan to a local government reviewing team for guidance on submission requirements and resources prior to official submission. The end goal is to save our customers time and money while meeting basic public safety mandates.
Predevelopment meetings are held twice a month on the second and fourth Wednesday at 1:30 p.m. Predevelopment meetings are virtual meetings supported by a facilitator and support staff.
Predevelopment Application & Required support materials are required to prepare for a successful meeting.
During a predevelopment meeting, agency professionals within their area of expertise will provide information on what to consider before submitting a project and clarify the process. Applicants will have the opportunity to get answers to their key questions and initial information on resources and things to consider. Applicants will also receive a written response in the form of a worksheet. This is not a preliminary design review.
In 2019 the Predevelopment Team reviewed 26 applications with an average of 6 divisions/agencies providing guidance and resources on each project.
